Summer is here, which means the kids are getting out of school and you are looking for more excuses to get out of work. If you are looking for a few ideas for things to do over the season, consider the following can’t-miss solutions to the summertime blues.
Road trip: Nothing quite says American summer like a road trip. Take to the road to visit friends or family, see sites you’ve always wanted to but have never had the chance to see, or just take a nice long drive up I-75.
Have a picnic: Pack a picnic basket with your favorite foods and beverages; find a nice, cool, grassy spot under a tree; and enjoy a warm afternoon. For extra fun, bring a deck of cards or your favorite board game and make a fun-filled afternoon of it.
Go the beach: Orlando is located in close proximity to Daytona Beach, Palm Bay, Fort Pierce, and Port St. Lucie, just to name a few. There’s nothing quite like a day at the beach on a hot summer day—just be sure to bring lots of sunscreen!
Find a nearby pool. If saltwater isn’t quite your thing, set yourself up for a day of wet and wild fun with a trip to a local pool.
Have a cookout: A cookout is always a good way to hang out with family and friends and break your diet in one fell swoop. Break out the grill, whip up your famous potato salad, but a few beverages on ice, and have the gang over for an afternoon of camaraderie and conversation.
These are just some of the many things you can do this summer in and around Orlando. If you need a hot ride to accommodate you in the summer heat, consider stopping into the air-conditioned showroom at Greenway CDJR.
